The Czech New Wave classic Closely Observed Trains (Ostře sledované vlaky) will be shown twice in Bangkok over the next two months: on 17th October at the Goethe-Institut, and on 9th November at Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Arts. The Goethe-Institut screening is part of their Czech Film Weekend, which runs from 17th to 18th October. The Chulalongkorn screening is part of A Tribute to Jiří Menzel, in honour of the director, who died last month. Closely Observed Trains was previously screened at Jam in 2017, and Menzel himself introduced a World Film Festival of Bangkok screening in 2007.
